Wychwood Park which is part of the De Vere Venues group is celebrating its 10 year anniversary as the leading Conferencing and Training venue for Staffordshire, Cheshire and surrounding counties.
A ribbon cutting celebration that took place at the venue today saw customers, suppliers and supporters of the venue raise a toast to the decade of dedication.
European Touring Professional, Simon Wakefield and a Celebrity Champion of The Donna Louise Children’s Hospice Trust, Rachel Shenton (former Hollyoaks actress), attended as special guests.
The Donna Louise Children’s Hospice Trust has been nominated as Wychwood Park’s charity of the year and were supported at the event.
The Weston based venue also welcomed new General Manager, Nathan Smith-Hilliard to oversee and help drive forward Wychwood’s growth as a leading conferencing and training venue in the region.
Three members of the Wychwood Park team were also congratulated on their long-standing commitment to the company over the past ten years.
We had a chat with Rachel about the Donna Louise hospice and the work that it does to help support children and families and how she became involved with the charity.
I was born in the local area and The Donna Louise Hospice is a really lovely place and means a lot to me.
I have visited the centre myself and the support that they show to the children and families is phenomenal.
If people are thinking about helping the centre out I would implore them to go and see for themselves the great work that goes on at the hospice. People may think that this is a sad place but it isnt, the centre is a very happy place and is a pleasure to visit.
The centre needs around two and a half million pounds a year just to keep the doors open and I would urge anybody who wants to help out a charity to support the Donna Louise Childrens Hospice, the facilities there are excellent and the staff work very hard and are the most amazing people.
The Donna Louise Children’s Hospice Trust provides a range of specialist care and support services for children with a shortened life expectancy and their families.
They support children and their families with the challenges that having a life-threatening condition can often bring.
