There were triple celebrations at The Swan Inn Pub in Wybunbury last week, three local men all celebrated their 50th Birthdays with a huge bash at the popular venue and decided to raise some money for the local scout group in the process.
Rick Carter, leading sports physiotherapist at West Bromwich Albion Football Club and Managing Director of Crewe based CTC Physiotherapy and his friends Ade Peever and Giles Semper raised £250 for the 28th South West Cheshire Scout Group also based in Wybunbury.
The Scouts are a cause close to Rick and his wife Emily’s heart as their 14 year old daughter recently left and really benefited from her time with them.
“The scouts do so much with the local children, hiking and bike riding and generally getting them out in the fresh air, they improved my daughter’s self esteem and her confidence and she enjoyed feeling part of a group, so we wanted to give something back to them”.
Scout leader Victoria Wright commented:
“We are really grateful for every donation we receive and will put this money towards buying new equipment.
We believe that Scouting is all about ‘learning by doing’ and that young people learn to think for themselves when they work in teams and are given responsibilities”.
Rick and Emily would like to thank the Wybunbury Tower Trust and everyone at The Swan Inn.
