As the sun set across South Cheshire on Friday 9th August thousands of people had descended on the rural community of Betley to be entertained for what was to be one of the biggest outdoor music concerts ever.
Day 1 – ‘Betley Goes Retro’
As the car parks opened at Betley Court Farm, the 252 acre venue for the Junction 16, 3 day Festival from 3pm on the afternoon of Friday 9th, scores of people had already gathered ready to enjoy what was definitely set to be a night to remember.
The gates to the main arena were opened at 5pm allowing music fans that had traveled from near & far to get into place for performances.
Mungo Jerry gave the crowds a superb time with his hits including the all time hit ‘In The Summertime‘ from 6pm and then later into the evening the headline act Status Quo roared onto the stage in style.
The almighty Quo gave the audience something to remember forever, entering the stage to a rapturous applause and beginning with their 1973 smash hit ‘Caroline’. They then went on to perform hits: Paper Plane, Hold Your Back, Rain, Railroad, Rock ‘n Roll ‘n You, Whatever You Want, In The Army Now, Rockin All Over The World, Roadhouse Medley, Big Fat Mama and Bye Bye Johnny.
The Crowds were definitely ‘Rockin All Over Betley Court Farm’.
