The Team Chongi Academy Help Make A Christmas Wish List Come True

Team ChongiKit Stockton, aged 36, of The Team Chongi Academy, won impressively at Mere Golf Club White Collar Boxing Event on Friday 30th November.

In front of a sold out, 400 plus crowd, Kit dominated the fight and worked efficiently to achieve the stoppage in the second round.

Kit took up the challenge earlier this year and has been training – under the guidance of Mark Russell and Will Robinson – at The Team Chongi Academy, to develop his fitness and boxing ring craft in preparation for the event last week.

Kit was delighted with his performance on the night and was quick to thank his coaching team and the part they played in his preparation.

Kit said:
“We all have dreams and ambitions and this fight was high on my wish list.

I’d heard about The Team Chongi Academy – they have an outstanding coaching reputation and proven ability to get winning results – so I approached them earlier this year to help me fulfil my boxing dream.

By the end of the training schedule, I was confident that I had the technical skills, physical fitness and mental resolve to go in the ring and make an impact.

Mark Russell, Head Coach at The Team Chongi Academy, was full of congratulations for Kit and his achievements.

Mark said of Kit’s resounding win:
“He made an excellent scholar and was eager to cover all aspects of the boxing craft and pre – fight preparation. He was able to tap into our technical and practical skill base in the lead up to the fight to make sure that he hit his peak on the night. Let’s not forget that, in essence, Kit did this for fun but his approach was nothing short of professional in every aspect”.

Mark continued:
”That’s the joy of coaching at The Team Chongi Academy. We are able to regularly see the results of our members’ hard work and determination. We know that we offer the tools the team needs to achieve individual goals.
It might be a one off event like Kit’s, or for motivating team members to keep a consistently high level of fitness to enable them to compete.
We have seen this pay off, again, at a national level recently with Shaun Hampton, who comprehensively retained his MMA Light Heavy Weight British Championship belt last month.  And only last week, Shaun took a gold medal in the Ultra Heavy Class of the Blackpool Brazilian Jiu Jitsu National Open Competition which I know he was delighted with too. It’s so rewarding and varied for me as their coach and for them too”.
