The ‘Memories Of Ludford Street’ School Reunion & Fund Raising Evening

– An Evening with Mr Evans –

A superb fund raising evening is coming to Crewe this year and is open to all ex-pupils of Ludford Street School and also pupils of the Victoria Community High School as it was known after 1978 when it then consisted of four sites, Ludford, Newdigate, Meredith and the Oakley centre.

After the huge success of our story about the demolition of the 1931 building, The Crewe News have teamed up with WTD PromotionsExcalibur Entertainment & Simon J Newbury Photography to create the biggest school reunion that has ever been seen in Crewe.
The brilliant thing is that every penny raised from this event will be split between two local charities which have kindly been chosen by Mr Gwyn Evans himself.

The two nominated charities which are close to Gwyns heart have been selected to be:
St Luke’s (Cheshire) Hospice & Hope House Childrens Hospice.

St Luke's (Cheshire) Hospice

We are all hoping this evening will raise much deserved funds for both worthy charities and at the same time put lots of people back in touch with friends so they can have a great time sharing memories together and having some fun into the bargain.

The event is titled ‘Memories of Ludford Street – An evening with Mr Evans’ and entry will be by ticket ONLY which will be priced at £5 each.

Places are unfortunately limited to 450 ONLY and will be issued on a ‘First come, First served basis’, so make sure you book your tickets early as we anticipate this event to sell out very fast. Unfortunately this is open to Over 16’s Only

This event is to be held at the Oakley Centre sports Hall on October 19th 2013.
The event starts at 7pm and will be going on until late.

Mr Evans will be doing a talk about his time at the school and answering questions from you for the first time in his 50 year teaching career.

We have other things in the planning stages which will be confirmed at a later date.
The evening will finish with a Disco kindly supplied by Excalibur Entertainment of Crewe and we will be having the bar opened so you can party the night away with friends.

hope-house-logoSt Luke’s (Cheshire) Hospice and Hope House Childrens Hospice will be coming along to the event and will have collection buckets around the main hall so please bring some spare change and lets all try to turn something that may be sad for the ex-pupils into something that will benefit potentially hundreds of people in our community by supporting two great charities.

Tickets are on sale now avaliable from the Oakley Centre reception desk.
Cash only sales please at the request of the centre.

We are going to be holding a raffle on the evening and would welcome any donations by local companies that would like to help our fund raising efforts and it would be very much appreciated.
