The 6th Words and Music Festival took place in Nantwich from Monday 7th to Sunday 13th October 2013.
The Festival featured original music, poetry, literature and theatre performances at a variety of venues around the town, such as:
- The Crown Hotel, High Street, Nantwich.
- Malbank Studio Theatre, Malbank Sixth Form Centre, Nantwich.
- The Vine Inn, Hospital St Nantwich.
- Nantwich Players Theatre, Love Lane, Nantwich.
The Words And Music Festival, Nantwich, was born in 2008, the brainchild of Cheshire born musician/record producer Nigel Stonier, strings player and conductor of Cheshire Sinfonia Clare “Fluff” Smith, and internationally acclaimed singer/songwriter Thea Gilmore.
Their mission was to stage gigs, readings and performances in venues as close to the core of the town and the community as possible, hence, the festival takes place in small, intimate venues through the town centre and includes acoustic sessions in coffee shops, live theatre on the town square and poetry readings in the town’s museum etc.
