The female Head Office staff of award winning, family owned and run motor retail group, Swansway, decided to join the Cancer Research #nomakeupselfie campaign in an effort to raise funds for this wonderful charity.
Not only did the girls bare-all for the no make-up photo, but they drove to work make-up free for their early photocall.
Joanne Bailey, Swansway Group Accountant explained:
“I drove to work with sunglasses on and my hair swept forward! I don’t like to be seen make-up free, but this was such a great cause and all the girls got behind it, that it seemed a very small thing to do, to help raise money for such a brilliant cause.”
The ladies challenged Swansway Group Director, Peter Smyth, to take part; the twist being, that while the ladies were taking part in the Cancer Research #nomakeupselfie campaign, Peter was being ‘made-up’ to raise money for the charity.
“It seemed a bit unfair, the campaign meant only the girls could take part; I decided if they were brave enough to dare to bare, then I should make the effort and go the other way.
“People have commented that I look scarily comfortable with the ‘glammed-up’ look, but to be truthful I don’t mind what anyone says! It’s for a great cause and the girls and I had a ball.”
