Staffordshire Police have called off the search for a missing 45-year-old man after a body was discovered this afternoon in the Staffordshire Moorlands.
Whilst formal identification is yet to take place, detectives believe the deceased to be David Palin, originally from Crewe but had been living in London.
Mr Palin was reported missing at around 10.30pm on Thursday 30 January after friends he was staying with in Bottomhouse near Leek became concerned.
A significant search of the Moorlands was undertaken by police and sadly this afternoon the search was called off when the body was discovered around a mile from Blackbrook.
There are no suspicious circumstances and detectives are preparing a report for Her Majesties Coroner as is normal in cases like this.
Officers are comforting friends and relatives at the tragic time and Staffordshire Police want to thank everyone who help support the appeal for the missing man.
