10 members of staff of Mid Cheshire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, will be taking part in the Great Manchester Run on Saturday 10th May, in aid of Mid Cheshire Hospitals Charity MRI Scanner Appeal.
The team come from various departments across the Trust, and will be taking part in the 10-kilometre run through the streets of Manchester City Centre, to show their support for the new facility at Leighton Hospital.
Laura Riddle, Charity Manager, comments:
‘It’s great to see staff get behind the MRI Scanner Appeal and show their support, and we’re also extremely grateful to see the local community’s commitment and continued support for the MRI Scanner Appeal.
Even though we’ve reached the £250,000 mark, we still have a long way to go.
If you already have a place in the event, and are unsure as to which charity to run for, we’d be extremely grateful for your support towards the MRI Scanner Appeal’.
The team would be grateful for any sponsorship for completing the 10 km distance around the streets of Manchester.

With the current MRI scanner working to full capacity between 8am to 8pm, seven days a week, with approximately 30 patients a day being scanned, the decision was taken to procure and install an additional MRI scanner in order to address the shortfall in capacity, and the need to look at the long term options available in providing a sustainable MRI service in order to continue to deliver first-class healthcare and help save more lives within the area of Cheshire, Staffordshire and surrounding areas.
