Shavington pantomime scoops regional NODA award

NODAShavington Village pantomime wins regional NODA – National Operatic and Dramatic Association award for Best Pantomime.

The National Operatic and Dramatic Association Awards took place at the Manchester Picadillty Mercure Hotel over 3 days – 2nd, 3rd and 4th May 2015.

The Shavington Village Festival Committee is dedicated to bringing the community together through their annual Pantomime, Village Festival and by supporting other local organisations.

Shavington Panto (1)The 2014 Pantomime ‘Robin Hood’  had audiences in stitches and earned rave reviews.

This year they are celebrating after taking on and beating strong competition from across the Northwest.

The nominees for the NODA Best Pantomime were as follows:

  1. Robin Hood – Macclesfield Majestics
  2. A Christmas Carol – Our Lady Star of the Sea
  3. Cinderella – Burnley Pantomime Society
  4. Little Red Riding Hood – Chrysanthemums Pantomime Society
  5. Peter Pan – SS Simon and Judes AOS
  6. Cinderella – All Souls
  7. Aladdin – North Manchester
  8. Robin Hood – Shavington Village Festival Committee
  9. Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs – Whitehaven Theatre Group
  10. Cinderella – Garstang Theatre Group

As well as presenting the annual awards, NODA provides support to its member societies in all aspects of amateur theatre.
