Members of Seahorse Swimming Club, which caters for people with disabilities and based at Crewe swimming baths, took part in a six-mile sponsored walk on Sunday 18th May to raise funds for St. Luke’s (Cheshire) Hospice.
The walk, which started at the Rising Sun Pub on Middlewich Road, Crewe was along footpaths at Valley Brook, Church Lane, Crewe Road, Birchin Lane, and Barony Park Nantwich and on the Greenway alongside Middlewich Road before returning to the Rising Sun.
Some of the walkers completed the shorter walk of two-miles, joining the walk at the Barony Park .
Gareth Roberts, Secretary for the Seahorse Swimming Club said:
“Some of the participants were as young as six years of age, so it was quite a tough challenge, but everyone was determined to complete this loop around Crewe and Nantwich.
It was a super day for the walk and everyone who took part, which included Club members and their families and friends, was so pleased to get involved and raise funds for this worthwhile cause.
It is expected that £250 will be raised for St. Luke’s.”
