Plans Have Been Submitted To Build On Wistaston Village Fete site

A planning application has been submitted for 11 houses on land at the rear of St Mary’s Church Rectory in Wistaston.

Selected residents in Rectory Close, Buckingham Close, Windsor Road, and Church Lane have been notified of the application.

The annual Wistaston Village Fete, organised by the Wistaston Community Council, uses this land and this year takes place on Saturday 21st June.

The Church generously makes the Rectory grounds available for the Fete, but there is concern that if the event was forced to move to an alternative venue it could weaken the link between the Church and the Rose Queen/her Attendant and diminish community spirit within the village.

Wistaston residents already face other potential and proposed planning applications such as the land off Middlewich Road and Church Lane, so are alarmed at further encroachment onto green space.

Comments on the Church Rectory application (14/1129N) can be submitted, by 9th April 2014, via: http://planning.cheshireeast.gov.uk/applicationdetails
