Local man appears at South Cheshire Magistrates Court on attempted murder charges

Crewe CourtA local man today appeared at South Cheshire Magistrates Court charged with two counts of attempted murder following the two stabbings in Crewe on 16th August 2014.

A 72-year-old woman was stabbed close to WH Smiths in the Victoria Centre around 11.30am on Saturday, August 16. She has undergone surgery and is expected to make a recovery.

A 55-year-old man was then attacked close to the Asda store shortly afterwards. He was taken to hospital before being discharged.

29-year-old Crewe man, Matthew Anthony Bullows, of Old Orchard Place off West Street, Crewe appeared in court this morning (Monday 18th August 2014), charged with two counts of attempted murder and one count of possessing an offensive weapon, namely a knife.

He spoke only to confirm his name and address and was remanded in custody until September 3rd when he is scheduled to appear at Chester Crown Court.
