Local author Gareth Roberts hosted a special launch event this morning at the Nantwich Players theatre on Love Lane to celebrate the release of his second book of the Nantwich life series.
Kind-hearted Gareth compiled the first Nantwich life back in 2011 after having an idea of highlighting all the good things that happen in the town but wanted to give local people a voice so he gathered local tales and lots of stories about buildings, places, events and a range of fantastic things that happen in the ancient town.
All the proceeds from the sale of the book went to the Nantwich players theatre to help with the running costs.
I went down this morning and witnessed the launch event.
Lots of people attended to mark the occasion and purchased a copy of this great second edition where once again all proceeds will be going to the theatre.
I worked with Gareth and contributed an article myself entitled ‘Ghosts at the Barony’.
I am a great believer in spirit and I have been involved in numerous investigations over the years in many places around Cheshire and witnessed quite a few things I cannot explain.
There are many more stories in the book titled ‘The Airmans Grave’, ‘The Legions Poppy Appeal’ and many more but you will have to get yourself a copy of the book to appreciate how locally focused this book is.
You will not find a book with as much a range of local topics as this this one.
The book is £9.95 and is avaliable from Gareth directly, please email firstname.lastname@example.org with your details and we will send them to Gareth and he will contact you.
You can also purchase the book from the following places:-
- Nantwich Bookshop
- Nantwich Museum
- The Players Theatre
A big thank you to Gareth Roberts for giving me the opportunity to feature my story in this wonderful book and signing my copy.
The Crewe News wishes you all the best.
