It’s time for ‘The last laugh before summer’

Comedy ClubOn Friday June 7th ‘The Very Best in Stand Up’ returns to Nantwich Civic Hall for the final show before taking a 12 week break for summer.

The compere & host for the evening will be a familiar face to long-time comedy fans in the area.

TOBY HADOKE was the resident compere way back at the Limelight.
Since comedy at the Limelight finished, Toby has had two successful Edinburgh shows. One of which went on to become a BBC special and subsequently turned into a BBC Audiobook. Earlier in his career he picked up the Les Dawson award for comedy at the North West comedy awards, beating Peter Kay, Dave Spikey, Ken Dodd, Caroline Ahearne and Steve Coogan.

The first act of the evening is TONY BURGESS.

Tony is widely known from his role in the cult BBC3 comedy Ideal where he plays DJ Troy, Moz’s crazy, vinyl obsessed brother or maybe you’ve seen him performing stand up on his long and established career in comedy, which came through Nantwich Civic Hall two years ago. Like Michael, Tony is a award-winning comedy writer, most notably on the aforementioned BBC show “Ideal” and also as the creator of BBC sitcom “The Visit”, which was subsequently nominated at the Royal Television Society Awards.

MARLON DAVIS is another young, exciting comedy prospect making a big name for himself. Already having a ‘Brown Eyed Boy’ MTV series under his belt, Marlon was crowned winner of the ITV series ‘FHM’s Search for a Star’ comedy competition & was a finalist in 3 other major comedy competitions. One to watch for sure!

The final act for the evening is Sony Radio Award winner MICHAEL LEGGE.

Michael’s Edinburgh show “What A Shame” was one of the highlights of the Edinburgh Festival last year. It was about embarrassment, shame and why, no matter what you may have done, Michael had probably been caught in worse situations. He regularly co-presents the Absolute Radio Sunday show with Dave Gorman and is an established comedy writer.
