Released by the Highways agency on 11th September
(Not In Cheshire East but could effect the area)
The Highways Agency are to carry out resurfacing work on the A500 at Newcastle Under Lyme, Staffordshire, from next Monday, 16 September.
The week-long scheme will see just over a mile of the eastbound carriageway between its junctions with the A34 and M6 junction 15 resurfaced and road markings, studs and traffic detector loops reinstated.
During the work there will be a full overnight closure of the eastbound carriageway from 9.30pm to 5.30am each night.
Traffic will be diverted from the M6 junction 15 along the A519 northbound to Newcastle Under Lyme and the A34 southbound to rejoin the A500.
Highways Agency project manager Purnima Kaul said:
“The work will be carried out overnight to minimise disruption to road users.
However, some delays should be expected and we ask road users to familiarise themselves with the diversion route before embarking on their journey.”
