Free pancakes will be offered to all children visiting Sandbach Farmers’ Market between 10:00am and 1:00pm on Saturday 8th March.
Former chefs from “The Dutch Pancake House” in Manchester are visiting the market and offered their services as a special treat for Sandbach children.
Chris Lowe, from “The Dutch Pancake House”, said:
“We will be cooking plain pancakes but there will be a variety of toppings available to add to the pancakes. Adults visiting the market aren’t excluded from the treat, since pancakes will also be available to purchase”.
Alongside the free pancakes, Sandbach Brownies are organising a Pancake Tossing Competition to take place between 11:00am and 12:00.
Tawny Owl, Carol Kinsella, explained:
“Competitors will be split into age groups, Under 5’s, 5-11 years, 12-18 years and over 18s. They will be allowed 30 seconds to toss their pancake as many times as possible.
Only pancakes that totally flip over will be counted as a toss and each entrant will be allocated an official “counter” to ensure complete accuracy in the count.
The person in each age group who tosses their pancake the most times in 30 seconds will receive a prize”.
The Farmers’ market, which includes lots of new stalls this year, commences at 9:00am and trades until 1:30pm. “Out of the Blues” will be performing, ensuring an action packed market to suit everyone.
