Fire Fighters were called this morning (January 21st) to the scene of a fire at the Pizza Parlour on Swine Market in Nantwich.
Crews were alerted to the incident at 08.22 this morning.
The Crewe News were on scene and spoke to the person who made the emergency call.
I saw smoke billowing from an extractor fan at the rear of the building and thought I saw a light on in the premises, on further investigation I knew something was not right so I alerted the authorities”.
When crews arrived they found that there was a fire on the ground floor of the building.
Four firefighters wearing breathing apparatus used hose reel jets to fight the fire.
They also set up a covering jet to try and stop the fire from spreading to the rest of the building.
Traffic was being diverted around the scene using Manor Road, the 84 service bus was also diverted for a short time.
The fire service told The Crewe News they were also busy trying to locate the manager of the Barnardos charity shop next door to speak to them about the possibility of smoke damage.
Nobody is thought to have been hurt in the incident.
A fire investigation has now been launched by Cheshire fire service to find the cause of the blaze.
Two engines from Crewe and one from Nantwich were in attendance.
The cause of the fire is now thought to have been accidental and to have started within the stores extractor fan.
