Fake Festival UK Tour Hits Sandbach With A Bang

Sandbach FF

The rural landscape of Sandbach was the setting for the Fake Festival UK Tour on August 10th 2013.

Sandbach Rugby Union Club was the place to be when the Fake Festival UK Tour landed for the first time ever in the area thanks to the determination of one man and his love for tribute bands.

Andy Bruno approached Sandbach Rugby Club with the idea after meeting the Fake Festivals team last year in Yorkshire when he went along with his girlfriend to see the Green Day tribute band and was really impressed with the music, sound quality, lighting, the security and the sensibly priced food and drink. Andy quickly investigated the possibility of bringing one to South Cheshire, and he thought Sandbach would be the ideal location as it is within easy reach of several other Cheshire towns.
The Rugby club committee were keen to host the event.

The Fake Festival UK Tours are becoming ever more popular around the country and there was definitely a bumper crowd in Sandbach.

The day rapidly got off to a great start, with a line up of 5 local bands taking to the stage during the afternoon. The venue was packed from the start with everyone enjoying the delights. There was certainly something for everyone, young & old and at times the adults certainly had their chance re-live their childhood with bouncy castles, inflatable runs, and the favorite of all was the gladiator style spinning beam.

Scores of visitors took the chance to enjoy many of the stalls that were on hand from Hook-a-duck and decorative face painting to personalized photo prints of their visit to Sandbach Fake Festival supplied by Simon J Newbury Photography.

Winsford based Mid-Cheshire Radio were also onsite along with their Station Mascot to entertain the guests.

The 5 Local acts had the stage rocking right from the word go with the crowds bopping around to many great and well known covers and also plenty of tracks written by themselves. These certainly went down very well.

Local Acts were: Hex, Junker, Joker’s Hour, Human Condition and Blunderbuss Benefit.

As the evening approached everyone was excitingly awaiting the main acts. As the sunset over Sandbach Rugby Club, everyone got themselves ready at stage front, filling the marquee to almost bursting point.

The evening tributes had been chosen to appeal to wide tastes, starting with the infectious rhythms of The Really Hot Chili Peppers and Green Date, who are Andy Bruno’s favourite tribute band and personal friends.

Headlining the event were Flash (Queen) a band that has a very universal appeal, they had everyone feeling that the original Queen line up were actually on stage.

Andy BrunoAndy Bruno, Licencee & Organizer of Sandbach Fake Festival commented:
“Bringing the Fake Festival UK Tour to Sandbach was certainly a superb idea.
I am extremely overwhelmed on how well it has gone.
It was brilliant watching the crowd really getting involved, enjoying the music and sunshine here today.
I so pleased that the day has gone so well with people making there way home at the end with nothing but smiles on their faces.
After following the fake festival tour around the UK for sometime now, bringing it here to Sandbach was a fantastic idea, its a town that does not have a music festival of any sort like many of the other towns around the area do, so getting it here to Sandbach has definitely been the right idea.
I seriously look forward now to hopefully doing it all over again in 2014”.

Without a doubt the Sandbach Fake Festival was an amazing day. Everyone thoroughly enjoyed themselves, going home excited and already asking when will the Fake Festival UK tour be returning.
