Entry Level students at South Cheshire College showed off their sporting prowess by competing in a range of fun activities during their annual sports day.
Up to 40 students from different Entry Level programmes teamed up to take part in the annual event on the College’s MUGA (Multi Use Games Area) facility.
The event, on Thursday 5th June, was organised and supervised by sports students, under the guidance of sports lecturer Rob Pickersgill, and was supported by Entry Level Learner Mentors.
Students were split into four different teams on the MUGA and went head-to-head with each other in activities such as football, hockey and different relay races.
They rounded off the event with a test of physical strength in tug-of-war contests and the Blue team gained the team trophy for notching up the most points on the day.
There were also individual trophies for Best Male Sean Gillespie, Best Female Lauren Seaton, Best Male goalkeeper Kevin Roberts and a Best Female goalkeeper award which was won jointly by Claire Madeley and Ilona Wisniewska.
College Principal Jasbir Dhesi presented trophies and medals to students that participated which reflected the skillful and enthusiastic contributions they made on the day.
Entry Level programmes target students with learning difficulties and disabilities and give them the opportunity to learn key life skills in a realistic setting.
Jacqui Gregory, Head of Curriculum for Entry Level, said:
“Entry Level students thoroughly enjoyed the day and the opportunity to take part in some fun activities.
We are very grateful to the Entry Level staff, Learner Mentors and sport and sports massage therapy students who supported the event and helped to make it such a great success.”
