Easter Bunny Gets A Helping Hand By Donating Toys To Leighton Hospital

Team ChongiThe Team Chongi Academy gave the Easter Bunny a helping hand by donating toys to Leighton Hospital.

Team Chongi responded, with their usual energy and enthusiasm after seeing the recent appeal made by Leighton Hospital.
The hospital appealed for suitable new toys for donation and use on the Children’s Ward 17.

As a result of the Gym’s efforts – and in particular the extremely generous donation of approx. £500 worth of toys organised by Kit Stockton of Stocktons, Manchester and supplied by Alex Kenyon of Padgett Bros (AtoZ) Ltd, Barnsley.
Mark Russell, Head Coach was delighted to drop off the three large boxes of brand new toys to the  Stepping Stones Nursery in Weston, who act as an official collection point on behalf of Leighton Hospital.

Help was on hand, from some young volunteers. Frankie Bloor (age 3). Tallulah Tunstall (age 4), William Prince (age 3), Keira Wood (age 3), Harvey Wesseldein (age 6) and Charlie Wesseldein (age 5) who helped to load the boot up with all the goodies and tried out the boxing gloves too with four times World Champion Kick Boxer, Mark Russell.

Mark RussellMark said:
“Our gym members are proud to able to support the local community and the fantastic response we got, with donations, reinforces that The Team Chongi Academy hold a strong nurturing set of values.

All too often these days, the emphasis is placed on being the winner.

That has its place but we should not forget the sense of pride and achievement that can be gained from encouraging others to use their drive, determination and success, to be the best that they can be and for the benefit of everyone and not just themselves.”

Liesa Tunstall, Stepping Stones Group added:
“We are committed through our social responsibility programme to try and help shape positive pathways for the young children in our community.

It is fantastic to be able to introduce positive role models like Mark Russell and give children an opportunity to see that through hard work, self -belief and by taking positive healthy steps, it can lead to success both competitively but also in life too.”
