Cllr John Lewis Is The New Nantwich Mayor 2013/14

Councillor John Lewis was invested as the new Mayor of Nantwich Town Council at the Mayor Making ceremony held at Brookfield Hall on Monday 13 May.
He succeeds Councillor Graham Fenton who was Mayor in 2012/13.

Councillor Lewis, a former senior lecturer who worked at South Cheshire College, moved to Nantwich in 2004.

He began his career in education when he joined the Royal Army Educational Corps during his National Service and served as an instructor with the Malaysian Armed Forces, before pursuing his career at different educational institutions in the UK.

Councillor Lewis’ wife Pauline will be his Consort.

Councillor Christine Farrall was elected as Deputy Mayor.
Rector of St Mary’s Church, Barry Wilson, will be the Mayor’s Chaplain for 2013-14.

The Mayor’s chosen charity for the year is SSAFA, which raises money for the families of members of the armed forces injured or killed serving their country.
