Children Rescued From Flat Fire In Crewe

Fire and rescue crews have been at the scene of a flat on fire at Malbank road in Crewe last night at around 00.10 am.

Cheshire Fire and RescueFour people were in the flat and alerted to the fire by smoke alarms.
One male occupant escaped from the first floor.
Firefighters wearing breathing apparatus and using three ladders rescued a female occupant and two children from a first floor bedroom window.
All four occupants were taken to hospital by the ambulance service.

The crews fought the fire using hose reel jets and a high pressure fan to ventilate the property.
A joint investigation into the cause of the fire is underway with Cheshire Police.

Two men aged 18 and 24 have been arrested in connection with this offence.
