This year Blue Bell BMW staged their third annual Golf Day at Wychwood Park on 16th July in glorious sunshine.
Charity of the year was Macmillan Cancer Support, selected following the exemplary level of care received by the groups former Managing Director, the late Sue Brownson OBE.
The day raised a staggering £2010.00 for the charity that is close to the hearts of everyone at the Blue Bell Group.
Sarah Page, Fundraising Manager for Cheshire at Macmillan who visited the Crewe dealership to collect the cheque, said:
“Huge thank you to Blue Bell for their support, in memory of Sue who received support from Macmillan earlier this year”
Fifteen teams took part in the day, which saw teams compete to win an overall prize as well as spot prizes on the course. Golfing items donated and signed by European Tour Professionals Graham McDowell, Luke Donald and Simon Wakefield (who is sponsored by Blue Bell) were auctioned off in the clubhouse after the round.
Guests were invited to pit their skills against golf Pro Simon at the 11th hole – a par 3 – while enjoying a cold drink thoughtfully provided at the tee, and donations were collected for Macmillian Cancer Support.
Barry Holt, Dealer Principal at Crewe commented,
“It was a beautiful hot day, in contrast to last year’s rather damp weather!”
He went on to thank the charity for their tireless work supporting people whose lives have been touched by the illness.
Macmillan are a source of support, helping with all things that people affected by cancer want and need. Helping not only patients who live with cancer, but also carers, families and communities. They use monies raised to fund nurses as well as specialist health care professionals and to build cancer care centers.
