Sandbach Town Centre Manager, Amanda Wagg is working in conjunction with local businessman, Andrew Clarke from Web Mosaic, to provide a free website and social media awareness evening on 1st May 2013 for Sandbach traders.
The aim of the evening is to take the mystery and fear out of having a web presence and also to highlight the benefits of having a website and social media awareness, as methods of communication.
Amanda Wagg said:
“I work very closely with traders and retailers in Sandbach town centre and many do not have a website and don’t know how to go about getting one. This awareness evening will be a good jargon-buster for those who want to learn more, without feeling overwhelmed.
I am delighted to be working with Andrew Clarke who has a unique way of explaining things.
He will be able to advise on the importance of having a web presence without spending a fortune and why it is important to have one whilst keeping up with our competitors.”
Another focus of the evening will be how social media can help to raise your profile.
One of the most recent examples of a success story is the new shop, Flowers on the Cobbles.
Shop owner, Helen Williams, had no idea how to use Twitter until another business owner convinced her to set up an account.
Now she sees the benefits immediately.
“The response we have had on Twitter has been amazing. I can put a promotion on Twitter and people come in to the shop within the hour asking about it!”
“As part of the Town Centre Management Strategy for Sandbach, my aim is to raise the online profile of Sandbach town centre to capitalise on new opportunities and potential new visitors to the town.”
I don’t need a website do I? Will take place on Wednesday 1st May at 6.00pm at Sandbach Literary Institution, Hightown, Sandbach.
